Festive Manifesto

If this holiday time is a tricky time for you here’s some wee gentle reminders

  • Mindfulness & Safety: Ensure a mindful approach,  in your interactions and environments during the festivities, be aware when you are overthinking, over indulging , over-sharing etc. Forgive yourself make adjustments and move on…it can be an emotional roller-coaster- kindness and self-compassion all the way.

  • Attention & Affection: Give and receive attention, nurturing relationships by checking in regularly with loved ones, offering genuine affection and remember to pop yourself at the top of the list.

  • Navigating Control: Exercise control by making small, manageable decisions amidst the holiday chaos, make plenty of personal choices and be in awareness when things are outside your control.

  • Interconnectedness: Foster meaningful connections with loved ones, carving out dedicated time amidst the busyness of the season. Get on the phone and talk to those you’ve missed over the years.

  • Fostering Community: Engage in fun activities that promote togetherness and solidarity, fostering a sense of community spirit. Aren’t able to get outside? Review some photographs of wonderful times and send them to friends and family. Share the joy.

  • Embrace Achievements: Celebrate daily accomplishments, regardless of size, recognising their value in boosting emotional well-being. Write them out at night. Appreciate what you did do.

  • Support : Surround yourself with those who appreciate and support you, valuing your worth and contribution. If you have to spend time with people who aren’t making you feel this way remember to pop up an imaginary bell jar around you –Visualise the unpleasantness  bouncing off of you and with each bounce feel the  compassion for you and for them- when we are happy we want everyone to be happy. Right? Try not to take it personally.

  • Time for Reflection: Dedicate moments to personal solitude for reflection and introspection, ensuring mental clarity amidst the festive rush. Keep as much of a routine, get outside and be in nature as much as you possibly can.

  • Ongoing FUN FUN FUN: Engage in daily learning or skill-building activities that contribute to personal growth, nurturing a sense of purpose and self-worth. If you need more fun remember our New Year Online Workshop on Saturday 13th January

Wishing you a peaceful, joyful and self-compassionate time.

P.S  Go on social media when you are feeling grand and fabulous, stay off it when feeling low. Remember everyone is showing their joyful highlights- not real life and everyone’s joy highlights are different- from watching a bird in a tree to sitting silently with a cuppa or dancing with pals. You get to choose you own and visualise or take action on those you want to have next year  😉
